Jiayuan Jenny Min is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida SW18423. She obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Washington in St. Louis with a concentration in children, youth, and families and clinical work. She has had a passion for becoming a mental health counselor to serve children, youth, and families since college. Jenny is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Prior to obtaining her clinical Social Worker licensure, she worked as a program manager for an international youth development program, a community-based counselor, and an intercountry adoption specialist. All the experiences affirmed her calling to be a change agent for children, youth, and families in the community. Jenny brings eight years of experience working with diverse clients to Hope Counseling Clinic. Approching her clients from a Christian, faith-based perspective, her strengths are patience, empathy, listening, and developing a trustworthy and safe environment to support clients’ mental health and healing process.
Jenny’s treatment approach include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a systems approach to assess her client’s needs and challenges from a big picture perspective. She has received training in play therapy, Infant Mental Health, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and has incorporated these approaches into the treatment process to assist her clients in regaining hope, joy, and purpose in life. She particularly enjoys working with elementary age children and helping them grow, explore their world and make healthy changes through the use of play among other modalities.
Jenny works with children of all ages, teens, adults, and families, dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, grief, self-esteem, identity, behavioral issues, ADHD, and Autism. She also has ample experience in working with underrepresented populations and individuals with various backgrounds. She is happy to meet her clients where they are at in life while offering a listening ear. She provides a safe and secure environment and closely work with her clients to develop personalized interventions and coping strategies. Jenny is available to provide counseling services in both English and Mandarin.
Jenny, her husband, and two children live in Windermere, FL with their lovely cat Prince. In her free time, she enjoys going to fun places with friends and family, reading, exercising, painting, exploring good food in the Orlando area, and serving the local church that she attends.
