Haley Ekstrom is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MH21317, in the state of Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. Haley is dedicated to collaborating with her clients to identify and meet their counseling goals. As a certified perinatal mental health professional (PMH-C), she has a strong passion for assisting women during the prenatal and postpartum periods. Haley's expertise also extends to eating disorder treatment, body image issues, anxiety, depression, and adjustment challenges.
Haley is well-versed in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed therapy. She employs an integrative approach to tailor mental health counseling to each client's unique needs, providing a welcoming space and compassionate presence where clients can explore their concerns, learn coping strategies, and receive support and accountability.
Before joining Hope Counseling Clinic, Haley gained valuable experience in eating disorder treatment and co-occurring issues at the intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) levels of care. She provided individual, group, and family counseling during this time. Additionally, she has worked with students at a local college addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, eating disorders, and other co-occurring disorders. Haley has also facilitated numerous crisis counseling appointments and is trained in trauma-informed interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
In her free time, Haley enjoys spending quality moments with her family and friends. She loves game nights, visiting theme parks, and enjoying the outdoors.
