Netta is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, IMH 15117, in the state of Florida. She has a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Amridge University in Montgomery, AL and received her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science and Leadership from the United States Air Force Academy. She is a member of Florida Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling as well as the American Association of Christian Counselors. Netta served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2006, during which time she was deployed to many different locations around the world. Her time of service not only gave her the opportunity to serve her country, but also serve the airmen she supervised, providing guidance and counseling throughout her tenure with the Air Force.
After leaving the military, Netta followed her heart’s true desire and began serving children. She worked with children in foster care, as well as serving as the director of a Preschool for several years while building her clinical experience with children. She treats children dealing with anxiety, anger management, self-esteem, bullying, peer relationship, and body image issues. She uses both behavioral therapy and play therapy techniques with her clients. Her clinical specialties broaden beyond children/adolescents and include depression, anxiety, career related issues, individual/personal coaching, divorce, single mothers, blended families and those recovering from infidelity. She is experienced in both individual and group settings for children and adults.
Netta's treatment approach is individualized per client and is augmented by cognitive behavioral based therapy. She also uses a family systems approach, as she believes that individuals not only affect themselves, but their families as well. Netta’s heart's desire is to serve God. She provides counseling from a Christian perspective with the belief that God is the ultimate healer. She believes that God has plans for all and that we are ALL wonderfully and beautifully made in His image! She strives to help all of her clients learn techniques to positively influence their environment and their relationships so they may continue to benefit from what they accomplish in counseling beyond their time of healing.
Netta and her husband live in Winter Garden with their blended family of five children and their adorable dog, Wes. She stays very active and loves to be outside, especially trips to the beach as she LOVES the sunshine! Travelling and taking her kids on "surprise" trips is a guilty pleasure of hers, too. Netta loves spending time with her friends and family as well as volunteering in the community and at her church.
